Background
The Business Improvement Programme is funded and managed by Invest NI. It supports the employment of a Senior manager with specific responsibility for managing a programme aimed at increasing the competitiveness of the company by delivering measurable business performance improvements which result in a minimum Return on Investment of 3:1 on the salary of the individual.
We were asked to design and deliver a development programme for BIA's focusing on developing their understanding of the knowledge, tools and behaviours to be effective in their role.
Inputs - Programme Design
Whitewater designed a development programme in collaboration with INI - to develop the participants in the key competences determined essential for the successful achievement of the post's objectives and to equip and support the Business Improvement Agents to achieve business performance improvements. Outputs and Results
The overarching objective of the programme is to increase competitiveness in NI companies by sustained business improvements. To date we have delivered 13 programmes to over 100 organisations across the NI Manufacturing and Tradable Services Sector. Many BIA's have reporting significant improvements in their own effectiveness and Return On Investment for their individual organisations. In-fact the first 3 groups of companies who took part have recorded over £7m savings to date and overall the development programme has a 765% return to Invest NI.
