Probation Board for Northern Ireland

Background

As part of an ongoing change programme with PBNI, Whitewater have contracted to coach all members of the senior management team including the Chief Probation Officer. All of the Senior Consultants in the Whitewater Team are certified coaches with a certificate in coaching from the Centre for Coaching (accredited by the University of Middlesex and recognised by the Association for Coaching).


Inputs


Each senior manager is attending on-going coaching sessions. Whitewater use a cognitive behavioural approach to coaching with each session used to develop and review practical action plans to achieve specific goals. There is an important emphasis on “experimentation” “contracting” and homework to be completed by the coachees in between sessions. These coaching approaches combine the use of cognitive (thinking) and behavioural techniques to help clients to modify their performance. 


Benefits


Formal evaluation is ongoing and we will be using the Jack Phillips Return on Investment model at all six levels to report on this. To date managers report a high level of satisfaction with the very practical goal setting combined with robust support and challenge on how they are implementing their action plans.



Invest NI - Business Improvement Agent Programme

Background

Whitewater Consulting are currently running a development programme for company Business Improvement Agents on behalf on Invest Northern Ireland. The Business Improvement Agent remit
is to promote an ethos of continued improvement within the company and is expected to facilitate major business improvement projects.

 

Inputs

To help the BIA implement these organisational changes Whitewater run workshops supported by a series of individual coaching sessions. The coaching sessions focus on the development of the BIAs personal competencies which enable them to drive the Business Improvement projects and the practical application of learning from the workshops.

 

Benefits

As a result of the coaching sessions Business Improvement Agents  have been able to improve their personal competencies and change aspects of organisational culture as well as demonstrate a positive return on investment for their Business Improvement projects.

CCEA (Council for Curriculum, Examinations and Assessment)

Background

 

The CCEA in Northern Ireland implemented a personal development questionnaire to selected managers within the organization. This highlighted areas of strengths and areas for development. Whitewater Consulting were commissioned to facilitate one to one coaching sessions for these selected managers.

 

Inputs


Individual coaching sessions were established between Whitewater Consultants and CCEA managers.


Coaching sessions focused on:

  • Strengths and areas for development
  • Practical implementation of key development areas
  • Continuous individual development

Benefits

 

Managers were able to develop robust individual action plans after each coaching session. This helped improve their day to day performance and the communication with their managers
